Fudan professor successfully developed a new technology of printed circuit board manufacturing

Whether future laptop could be made like a pen? Rolling the screen into pocket when it's no need and opening when on work? Professor zhen-guo Yang and his team from Fudan University newly developed a green manufacturing technology known as "printing - adsorption-catalyze addition method", which can significantly reduce the production cost and pollution of the flexible printed circuit board, thereby large-scale promotion of the rolling screen becomes a possibility, and this will also break the situation that high-end technology and flexible electronics are mostly monopolized by foreign companies.

Zhen-guo Yang advised, the core of the new technology is the  self-developed ion adsorption ink. As the connection between resin substrate and conductive copper plating layer, this adsorption ink can catalyze chemical plating and notably improve PCB interface adhesion between pcb substrate and coating, not need sintering, the conductivity of the coating can be comparable to that of copper foil, it can also solve through-hole metallization of flexible circuits with interconnected multilayer. In addition, this particular ion adsorption ink can be applied to the surface treatment of different base materials, such as plastic, ceramic, metal, composite materials, etc., to make flexible electronics substrate option more widely. Moreover, it will reduce 30% of the circuit board manufacturing cost because of the simplified process, and common plastic base material like PET can be used.
